The International Relations Committee


Responsibilities

The International Relations Committee is responsible for maintaining relations with foreign bodies within the Arab world and internationally, monitoring Human Rights in Egypt, especially cases concerning foreign parties, and communicating and collaborating in joint projects.

Meetings with International Delegations:
The Committee organizes meetings with Arab and international delegations and participates in meetings with members of the Council and its General Assembly.

Examining Projects Presented to the Committee:
The International Relations Committee studies, analyzes, and examines proposed projects sent by various sources prior to their discussion at Council meetings.

Committee Meetings:
The International Relations Committee holds two Committee meetings every month on the first and third Wednesday of the month to discuss its agenda.




Activities

Human Rights Salon:
The Committee organizes Human Rights Salons to engage in discussions concerning important Human Rights issues including the following:

HR Salon #1
- Minister Ahmad Maher, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, was invited to attend.

HR Salon #2
- Mr. Kamel Zeheiry, former chief of Journalists, was invited to attend.
- Title of discussion: "Journalism and Human Rights"

HR Salon #3
- General Ahmad Fakhr, President of the Board of Trustees of the International   Institute for Futuristic and Strategic Studies, was invited.
- Title of discussion: "Human Rights and the October War"
- Date: Tuesday, October 11th, 2005
- Location: The Diplomatic Club
